The medical misinformation law just signed in California by Governor Gavin Newsom is bad policy. Check that. It’s HORRIFIC policy. GHASTLY even. The new law subjects the state’s doctors to discipline, including the suspension of their medical licenses, for sharing “misinformation” or “disinformation” about COVID-19 with their patients.

“Medical knowledge is always evolving. No one has a monopoly on good ideas. Our leaders in government should encourage doctors to pursue new ideas and innovate, not threaten to end their careers for disagreeing.”

Gavin Newsom is still mum on whether he’ll sign a bill put on his desk by the state legislature last month that would criminalize doctors for spreading “misinformation”. The deadline to sign is this Friday, September 30, and the clock is ticking. Writing in the Daily Caller, Dr. Paul Marik adds to the chorus of voices calling on Newsom to send this bill to the ash heap of history (where it belongs).
