The Independent Medical Alliance (IMA), today urged the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to enact an immediate ban on direct-to-consumer paid advertising for individual prescription drugs. The group argues that pervasive pharmaceutical marketing undermines the doctor-patient relationship and fuels America’s overreliance on medications.
