Dr. Marik Award

We’re proud to share that our co-founder, Dr. Paul E. Marik, has been inducted into the Orthomolecular Medicine Hall of Fame, an honor awarded to those who have made lasting, global contributions to nutrient-based and integrative medicine.

Established by the International Society for Orthomolecular Medicine, the Orthomolecular Medicine Hall of Fame honors pioneers. whose work has advanced the clinical use of vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients in medicine. Dr. Marik received the award on October 3, 2025, during the ISOM Polypharmacy Reduction Conference in Toronto.

This recognition celebrates a lifetime of groundbreaking work that redefined how nutrients can be used to save lives.

Years before the world came to know him for challenging the COVID-19 medical response, Dr. Marik developed a now-famous protocol for sepsis treatment using intravenous vitamin C, hydrocortisone, and thiamine, a combination that helped bring orthomolecular principles into the critical care mainstream. His bold, evidence-based approach saved lives and ignited new conversations in ICU medicine about the power of nutrient-based therapy.

In 2020, Dr. Marik co-founded the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (now the Independent Medical Alliance) to champion the use of repurposed drugs and nutraceuticals in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. Under intense institutional pressure, he stayed the course, bringing hope, protocols, and treatment options to patients and practitioners around the world.

His induction into the Hall of Fame is a recognition of that courage, innovation, and lasting contribution to orthomolecular medicine. Today, he continues to apply that same vision to urgent challenges like cancer, insulin resistance, depression, brain inflammation, and chronic disease—always placing patient outcomes above politics or convention.

Dr. Marik is a former tenured Professor of Medicine and Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Eastern Virginia Medical School, author of over 500 peer-reviewed publications, and recipient of numerous teaching awards, including the National Teacher of the Year Award from the American College of Physicians.
