I remember my brother starting to lose his thick curly blonde locks at just 18! We were made to believe all that it was a hereditary issue… even though both my parents died late in life, each, with a thick head of hair.

But the more I learn I understand that for many men, hair loss is more than just a cosmetic issue, it can quietly chip away at confidence and how we see ourselves. But it’s rarely talked about openly.

The good news? There are root causes worth exploring and options that go beyond quick fixes.

    👀 Quick question:

If you’re noticing hair changes, do you ignore it, research it, or talk to someone?

It’s not as widely recognized, but women can have hair loss, too, and with the emphasis on women’s looks it is devastating. I have a close friend who suffers from this.

Please rename your guide so that it’s not sex-specific, and women also can benefit from the information.

@adesimba Would it be ok if I asked the research team to maybe create a women’s’ health version? There may be more to it specifically for women. If there’s a cross-over, all for the good.

@adesimba Just to mention a women’s version of this is in queue to be reviewed as a candidate for research and delivery.

Further update: “Women’s Hair Loss T&G for the last week of this month.” – That’s what we have planned 🙂

Thanks for this! I’m 71, and suffered much of my receding hairline in my 30’s. I don’t fret about it too much, and always figured there wasn’t much I could do that wasn’t going to cost an arm and a leg. My wife suffers from it, too, and it bothers her a lot! I’ll be sure to share this with her.

My father had a thinning receding hairline when I saw him last in the 1950’s. So I figured that my thinning hair in my late 60’s was inherited. My solution was to embrace the inevitable and just start going bald. So now for the past 10 years I have been just shaving my little bit of hair off the head daily. My character has nothing to do with the amount or quality of hair on my head.

Another good topic of 100’s of them. I have had low thyroid, for 20 years, still now- very stable- normalized with med. (I wondered if a natural med may be better- I haven’t explored that- my endochronologist would not be interested- he is kind of a pharma guy. As I converse he is nice but stops the conversation as he has 1.8 minutes on average to attend to me each 6 months. Not good).

About a decade ago I contracted a remodel job for a lawyer- went to settle- the lawyer after 15 month job deducted several items – I was blindsided.

Within couple months my alopecia started 1st time in my life- overwhelming stress- large areas some large as an orange- which is true this moment.

Often times it grows back with tiny area like a nickel or dime left, then changes to another location- large patch again. Random locations.

I tell folks to best of my knowledge I don’t have cancer, the often asked question- often asked to my wife as most hesitate to ask me.

I had several prednisone shots into my skin. I don’t do that any longer- it did work though.

I have worked hard on my health- balanced- normalcy. Bloodwork good, moderate stress. Beats me. I just live with it. I speak often times in public, in large groups, everyone can easily see it. It would be good to heal, but at age 72 I don’t think much about it. Just keep rolling on.

I have no balding otherwise, I have full head of hair.

I catch-up on the Wednesday doctor videos I miss. I saw the red light therapy last week. I may try that.

    Blessed day to all.

I’m surprised there was no mention of GHK-Cu (Copper Peptides). That seems to be the latest talk I’ve seen on hair growth.

“Copper peptides, particularly GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper complex), are small protein fragments that play a crucial role in various biological processes, including hair growth. They are naturally occurring compounds in the body, but their levels decrease with age. Copper is essential for maintaining healthy hair, as it supports collagen production, boosts blood flow, and enhances nutrient delivery to hair follicles.”

@jrgerber I have passed this on to my colleague who works with Dr. Carmen who’s doing the Women’s version of this guide. Maybe she knows about it?

YES to the topic of women’s hair loss. Personally and for several friends!

Thank you (as always) to jrgerber for the copper lysine combo. Unfortunately lysine is something kidneys don’t want – maybe it’s just a wee bit of lysine?
