How many public health policies were built on studies that were never properly stress-tested?
This new analysis looks at the Lancet-published study behind Australia’s COVID booster policy, the one claiming vaccines cut all-cause mortality in older Australians by around half.
But when researchers compared that claim with Australia’s own official death data, the numbers didn’t add up. The study would require believing something extraordinary: that without vaccination, excess mortality in older Australians would have been far higher than anything seen in comparable countries.
At some point, “trust the science” has to mean checking the math.
I wonder how many COVID policies would survive a proper independent review?
