Hi Eric, thanks so much for creating this! I’m just seeing it now. I saw your post about moderators as well. I’d love to participate however I’m wondering if the platform has notification functions other than email? I have not played around with it enough to find out. If it does, do you have to be logged in to receive notifications? If I was to add this, or any forum I’m a member of, to my home screen, would I receive alerts? Reason for asking is because I have a personal app and the functionality is fantastic. Alerts, notifications, email, etc which makes it easy to manage. Plus, it’s private. I realize this is a new venture for the Alliance and it appears you’ve been using the platform prior to release to the ardent followers. So I’m curious as to best practices for managing the forums. How are you doing it? Sorry for the lengthy reply. Thanks again.
Great questions. We have a guide posted on managing notifications, here:
https://imahealth.org/forums/groups/tech-support/forum/discussion/how-to-adjust-notifications/
Every group you join, you automatically “subscribe” and will receive notifications. These notifications are in the app (the bell in the top right of your screen) as well as emails.
You can also subscribe to individual discussions, where you will receive notifications of any new replies. This is great if you started a discussion or just found a discussion to be particularly interesting.
We don’t yet have a mobile app with push notifications, but we are looking into that for the future. Currently, to get “in-app” notifications, you need to have the site open and logged in on one of your devices.
For quickly getting to content, we have the 3 side navigation items:
Hot Zone: This shows you groups that have the most activity in the last 30 days (as we grow in activity, we will shrink this window to the last 7 days)
My Groups: A quick overview of the groups you have joined. You can also see these in the My Groups tab of the main page.
Latest Activity: A quick feed for whatever the latest activity is, across all groups.
We will be enhancing the home screen further to show trending discussions so you can quickly get to hot topics.
