This may be one of the use cases for combining a Group + Forum. Granting you an FB Groups style system and a “discussions” tab for BB forum style content.

We have adjusted the server settings to display as EST. We’ll look into if we want entirely localized times or not.

Yes, this is a known issue we are actively working. It’s the only sub-system that doesn’t recognize memberships correctly, so it’s broken for everyone who isn’t an admin (which bypasses all membership restrictions)

The activity feeds help with that, but we want to have a digest for the forums at some point. Most active threads of the day.

Most recent activity. So you’ll see creation order DESC, but a thread that is older getting a new reply will “bump” back up to the top.
We’ll have more sorting options later. Something we have to develop ourselves.

Yes, there is an ongoing issue with private messaging. It is the only subsystem that is confused by membership level restrictions. Rest of the system seems to be working correctly.

In the Better Messages system, it does send but doesn’t appear to. You have to refresh the page for it to load. Some AJAX call might be failing or we need to upgrade to websocket licensing.

Yes, we have multiple ways we plan to do that, but we haven’t fully built out the badges system yet.

We’ll test some things on another environment to try and narrow it down. We don’t use the globally recommended filters because we found they were blocking too much Wrong Think content as well. it’s always a challenge to try and get anti-spam systems that also aren’t from the perspective that our entire camp should be blocked.

I wonder if it was that specific content. Which is important to know if our anti-spam tools are having too many false positives.

This came up with talks with React19 and they emphasized the need for suicide support. Which is what @kellyb means when we have to consider the management of these new groups. We need to know in advance who is leading and managing it and any other possible considerations for legal, liability, or just better user service.
