Why Are We Still Taking Cake to People With Cancer?

Why Are We Still Taking Cake to People With Cancer?
I know most of you in this smart community already understand a lot of what Dr. Marik says about cancer and metabolic health.
We understand that cancer is not just a genetic lottery. We know that drivers include insulin resistance, inflammation, poor diet, low vitamin D, lack of movement and metabolic dysfunction all matter.
But I still think we need these conversations again and again.
Why?
Just this week I heard from my two friends that are getting “treated” for breast cancer, that friends and family came to visit, and they came bearing gifts cake and biscuits, so many well meaning gestures from those that love them, but it’s like throwing gas on a fire.
Later this year, when I visit friends with cancer, I’ll be taking good green tea and a printed copy of the IMA cancer or food guide, instead of cake. (Oh ..how smug do I sound 😅 )
And most people facing cancer are still not being given this information, and most importantly do not seem to even know about it when given a diagnosis and scared into making a quick decision.
I loved watching Dr. Paul Marik and Dr. Meryl Nass (two powerhouses in my book) talk about cancer, metabolic health, prevention and patient empowerment.
Dr. Marik brings it back to the basics: real food, less sugar, movement, vitamin D, omega-3, better sleep and better metabolic health.
I’ll put the full CHD TV discussion, the IMA Cancer Resource Hub, and Dr. Marik’s Substack in the comments.
Quick question: What would you take to support someone facing cancer, food, tea, a guide, a book, or just your time?
