When Medicine Punishes Honesty
Imagine being a doctor in the ICU during the height of the COVID pandemic. Every day, lives were on the line. Every decision mattered.
Now imagine speaking up about what you saw—about treatments that worked, about policies that were harming patients—and suddenly your career, your reputation, even your livelihood were at risk.
This is what happened to so many doctors who refused to stay silent.
One of them, our wonderful Dr. Joseph Varon, shares in a new Brownstone Institute article what it was like to care for patients in those impossible conditions, and the professional backlash he faced for simply putting patients first.
This wasn’t about politics. It was about honest medicine, and the cost of speaking the truth.
So manyt people just want to ‘Move On’ but if we don’t stand up now it will happen again.
