What Does The Data Really Say About Measles And Childhood Vaccines?
After four decades caring for children, IMA Senior Fellow in Pediatric Education Dr. Elizabeth Mumper says her thinking on the childhood vaccine schedule has evolved with experience.
In this clip from her IMA Academy lesson, she takes on the measles headlines. While news coverage often frames outbreaks as a problem of too many unvaccinated children, Dr. Mumper presents data she says shows that cyclic recurrences can occur even when the MMR schedule is followed appropriately. She also examines the historical measles mortality record before and after the introduction of MMR.
The full 53-minute presentation goes much further. Using measles, tetanus and pertussis, Dr. Mumper explores how practitioners can assess real-world disease risk, vaccine effectiveness and risk, evolutionary pressure from non-sterilizing vaccines, and questions around safety oversight — including VAERS underreporting and follow-up periods in vaccine trials.
These are conversations parents and practitioners deserve to be able to have openly.

Whilst reducing the number and frequency of vaccines might help, one question remains, the data suggests vaccines impair natural immunity, so, with that in mind, mothers are unlikely to be able to pass that on to their unborn child, of the child once it’s born, to my knowledge, the only ones with lifetime immunity are the unjabbed cohorts such as the Amish, and those born pre 1970.
