    I would venture the fewer grains and potatoes one consumes (leaning more “paleo diet”) the less GERD issues one will have. My siblings suffer with reflux, I don’t. Also Dr. Norm Robillard has further info on this.

    I experience GERD as painful gas attacks, rather than acid indigestion. It is almost completely a thing of the past since I switched to ketogenic diet. This would seem top validate that grains and potatoes contribute to GERD. I’ve also read Dr. Robillard’s book, and did not find his theories helpful to me personally. I had been blithely popping proton pump inhibitors, then read about nasty side-effects. I use simethicone on those rare occasions when I still have a problem.
