Is there a holistic approach for managing recurring pericarditis, especially the very mild episodes?

Is there any way to reduce pericardial inflammation without staying on ibuprofen and colchicine for three months?

I’m also unsure about ibuprofen — isn’t it considered hard on the heart? Why is it prescribed for such a long period if it can potentially contribute to heart‑related issues?

Yes, there definitely a more holistic approach than a lifelong course of ibuprofen! Long-term analgesic use has been associated with (among other things) an analgesic-associated headache, and is never the solution to an underlying issue. I would concentrate on anti-inflammatory foods, which are plants. It is a wives tale that nightshade plants (tomatoes, colored potatoes, eggplant etc) are inflammatory – they are not. Read the book “How Not to Die” by Dr. Michael Greger if you have not already. Start including anti-inflammatory foods (there are many) in your diet. Do turmeric + black pepper (how to take it & why is in the book). I bet you could see resolution with food changes alone but if you HAD to do something in the pharmaceutical way I’d think colchicine might be a better way to go than ibuprofen. But those are just my pre-coffee thought, no specific medical advice! Best of luck to you!
