Plague in Russia?

“Pneumonic plague deserves a serious response,” Dr. Varon continued. “Here is what the public should know: plague is a bacterial infection, and when it is caught early, it is treatable with inexpensive, widely available antibiotics. Americans deserve that kind of straight talk, and they did not get it during COVID, when early treatment was dismissed, and the doctors who pursued it were punished.”

After COVID, Americans Don’t Know Whom to Believe, and That Should Alarm Everyone

Independent physicians warn that public distrust of health authorities is now a public-health threat in its own right, and that it will not heal without real accountability.

The IMA statement about alleged plague and public trust is timely and well considered. Count me among those who have seen the light. I agree completely with Dr. Varon, including that the lack accountability for Covid-area abuses is a blight on humanity.

But I disagree with Dr. Varon’s apparent view that accountability will bring back public trust. Perhaps it will for some, but not for me. No amount of accountability will ever cause me to trust so-called public health authorities ever again. The entire system is corrupt. It is beyond repair.

Society would be far better off without a public health bureaucracy. So-called public health serves no useful purpose. It has only wrought devastation, and the very concept should be confined to the dustbin of history.

Indeed, health is individual, not public. That the one-size-fits-all mentality that defines public health is ludicrous on its face should be apparent to any thinking person.

I think you make an important point… accountability may be essential, but that doesn’t necessarily mean trust automatically follows.

For many people, the experience of the last few years has fundamentally changed how they approach health decisions. Perhaps one positive outcome is a greater willingness to take a more active role in our own healthcare.

Thought I would add links about the topic, from our fellows and partners, when I see them.
