I am sure you have seen the headlines….
Governor Josh Shapiro announced “the first two measles-associated deaths in Pennsylvania in 35 years.” …Not the same as saying the people died from measles.
According to County Commissioner Joshua Parsons, as of August 25, the Coroner’s Office had zero reported cases where measles was listed as the immediate cause of death.
I still feel like I have PTSD from these sort of statements we had to endure daily during COVID.
Interestingly Shapiro also acknowledged another problem: “Measles has been so rare for so long that many doctors don’t know a lot about it.” so I have very little idea about treating it.

The best source I know on how to treat measles is “Dissolving Illusions” by nephrologist Suzanne Humphries, M. D. In her book she describes treating measles (and preventing measles) with vitamin A.

Assuming measles is a thing, (germ theory) A couple of things spring to mind, first, were the cases vaccine acquired? (pathogenic priming)? second, were these individuals vaccinated/part vaccinated through the childhood schedule? if yes, did that in some way downregulate natural immunity making them more susceptible to infection? until and if, the details come out, speculation is about as good as it gets.
