Is there a test for Long Covid?

on March 23, 2025 at 9:36 pm EDTHow does one tell if one has Long Covid? I had Covid in 2020 and never again, though some kind of inflammatory response that responded to IVM about 15 months later. But just feeling not good and seemingly going downhill. Is there a way to know if it’s Long Covid? Thanks.

There’s no single definitive test for Long COVID. Diagnosis is based on symptoms, medical history, and ruling out other conditions. However, doctors may use tests to check for organ damage or underlying issues that could be related to Long COVID, such as:
Possible Tests for Long COVID:
- Blood Tests – To check for inflammation, immune system activity, or organ function (e.g., liver, kidney, or heart issues).
- Heart Tests – ECG, echocardiogram, or cardiac MRI if heart-related symptoms (palpitations, chest pain) are present.
- Lung Function Tests – Spirometry or CT scans to assess breathing problems.
- Brain & Nerve Tests – MRI or cognitive function tests if neurological symptoms (brain fog, headaches) are an issue.
- Autonomic Testing – To evaluate POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), which can be associated with Long COVID.
Since symptoms vary widely, diagnosis usually involves multiple specialists. Researchers are working on biomarkers that could provide a more reliable diagnostic test in the future.

Thank you for your full response.

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling your best. Long Covid can be tricky to diagnose since symptoms vary widely—fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, and lingering inflammation are some common signs. Since you noticed improvement with Ivermectin (IVM) before, it might indicate an inflammatory or immune response at play.
Have you checked in with a doctor? Some tests (like inflammatory markers, D-dimer, or even viral reactivation panels) might give more clarity. In the meantime, focusing on reducing inflammation—good nutrition, rest, and even supplements like NAC or quercetin—could help.
Hope you start feeling better soon!

Well, you could ask the question another way. Do you have virus or (so called) vaccine damage ? There is a simple blood test that can be performed to establish the former or the latter. The following images are the result of blood test that can be interpreted as follows (in Danish):
– Nucleocapsid protein + Spike glycoprotein == virus origins
– Spike glycoprotein only == ‘vaccine’ origin
The problem with the modRNA/LNP adjuvant product (cannot call it a vaccine in the traditional sense) is that the LipidNano Particle (LNP) adjuvant (read carrier) can be found throughout the bodies organs via the so called vasculature – so mush for staying at the injection site.

This sounds very similar to my story. I had extremely mind case of delta in 21, mainly felt weak but healed within a few days. I never felt the same though. In the fall of 23 I really started hitting the wall. Symptoms that mimicked Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. My symptoms would really worsen with even mild activity. This is when I called the “Leading Edge Clinic.” Dr Kory and his team are on cutting edge of diagnosis and care for LC and Vaccine injury.Laura B was my nurse practitioner. She was more knowledgeable than most doctors I’ve seen in my life. I’m 70, so not my first rodeo.
It’s been 8 months since I started using their protocol and my symptoms are about 85/90 percent better. Very worth the cost!
Hope this helps

Kerry, your post especially caught my attention because it does sound very similar to my situation. Do you have Dr. Kory’s clinic contact information. Please! Thanks so much, and I hope you are fully back to feeling good now! If you are ok with tellng me: when they order blood tests, where did you go to have the blood drawn? Also I did find the clinic online but no phone number is listed. Are you ok with sharing that? If not, I understand and will email. Thanks again for reaching out with your initial response.

You can contact Leading Edge clinic online . They 100% telemedicine. I would highly recommend this clinic. They are absolutely the most comprehensive cutting edge on all things spikeopathy! Dr Kory also writes on sub stack so you also can go there to read about everything that is coming down the pike. Good luck and best wishes to you. I’m also unvaccinated, never even had a flu shot.
I’m in Wa as well, going to naturopathic doctors, but I’ve not talked to any medical professionals that have the knowledge that Dr Kory has.

Kerry, I appreciate your enthusiasm for Dr. Kory’s clinic. I did contact them and they suggested the Complex Medical Package which includes four months of care, with three consultations, along with 1 to 1 nursing support. Is that what you did? Can it be renewed if progressing but not fully?
I’m willing to go for it and asked a couple questions which I’ll ask you also if you don’t mind answering. Different getting a response from a patient : )
Do they do blood testing to determine that covid is involved? (I guess the “how” will be explained if so) I have another chronic condition which could be responsible for my symptoms rather than covid.
Thanks if you can answer. Thanks if you don’t. You have already offered a lot.
I have never had a flu shot either : ).

I’m glad you contacted Leading Edge clinic… before I committed I asked questions through email on their secure site as to which protocol was right for me as I was not sure . They answered my questions promptly. I decided to go for the Long Covid protocol. I worked with Nurse practitioner Laura Bevis. It was recommended that I take two blood tests. One was antigen test, the other was to determine whether I had micro clotting. My antigen test was very low, but my micro clotting came back in mid range. It was explained to me that is why I was experiencing extreme fatigue. To my knowledge every patient is diagnosed and treated individually. I would highly recommend Laura. She has been in nursing for 40 yrs and also has a PHD in nursing. I personally did the initial package, but didn’t continue with continued care as I was feeling about 85/90% better after initial care. But I can always make a one time appointment, just haven’t needed it.
I have no regrets about using their services. Again good luck on your journey to reclaim your health.

Kerry, thank you so much for your kind replies. I am very happy for you about your recovery and may it continue easily to 100% !!! I’m preparing inwardly to take the leap and will probably send in my registration today. It will be the first time I will have actually fully engaged with western medicine. Whatever the outcome, I dearly appreciate your gently encouraging notes.

I think there are some great responses here already, but I’ll add my 2 cents. The first problem, obviously, is finding a doctor that does more than the typical “What’s the symptoms, classification, prescription” dance because whether it is Long COVID or not, you need someone that will do a full workup; and since you suspect Long COVID, someone with more education on the topic than average.
I live in Washington State, a state where naturopaths (who love to do lots of blood tests, ask any phlebotomist around here) are able to practice medicine just as MDs do, etc. I also flew myself to NYC to see Dr. Berkowitz, MD who left no stone unturned and discovered where things were out of whack – spike protein antibodies, autoimmune markers, etc.. All of my symptoms happened after vaccination and prior to ever catching COVID.
I feel very lucky to have found some professionals that could identify and know what things to look at because without them I may not be alive today.

👍 Thank jr. Much obliged.
-
Maybe posting directly to jrgerber would get you the information about Dr. Berkowitz?

Can you give me the contact information for Dr. Berkowitz please. Thanks.

Thank you; got it.

Thank you from my heart to everyone who answered here. Sooo much appreciated. As an added piece: I did not get the shot and I live in Oregon. Thanks so much to everyone.
-
Thank you jrgerber. You are fortunate to have so many out of the box doctors in WA state. I live in Oregon where it is the opposite! If you are comfortable sharing it, could you please share the names of a couple doctors you found that you trust and who also do telehealth. If not, I understand. Thanks either way for your kind reply.

Hello Gratitude:
I am a retired nurse who las year went searching for a functional medicine physician to manage a new diagnosis of Chronic Lyme Disease coupled with symptoms that I attributed to Long Covid. I am currently under treatment for both conditions via telemedicine by Dr, Yusuf Saleeby and one of his nurse practitioners at Carolina Holistic Medicine in South Carolina. I see online where their practice is currently accepting new patients. (As you may know Dr. Saleeby is an IMA Senior Fellow.) Prior to his appointment as an IMA Fellow, I had discovered him over a year ago on a You Tube video interview in which he was discussing both Lyme Disease and Long Covid mentioning that he was planning to expand his telemedicine practice nationally.
I highly recommend Dr. Saleeby’s practice group. The quality of care and responsiveness and concern of all of their staff is unmatched in my experience. Below is a link to their website.

Hi there
I know you’re looking for a test, but I thought I had already responded with the link to the IMA I-RECOVER Long COVID Treatment guide https://imahealth.org/protocol/i-recover-long-covid-treatment/
I hadn’t, and here it is. Hope it provides assistance.
