This question comes up all the time, and I know we may have covered it before, but its always worth coving again.

My heart goes out to anyone trying to navigate cancer while searching for every possible option.

In the latest episode of Cancer Care Evolving, Dr. Paul Marik shared some practical advice:

➡️ Google integrative medical clinicians in your area.

➡️ Give them a call to ask whether they work with cancer patients.

➡️ Schedule a face-to-face appointment with someone who is willing to help you navigate the IMA Cancer Care protocols alongside your treatment plan.

That way you don’t have to figure everything out on your own.

If you’re considering a new physician, our guide on choosing the right doctor may also help:

    https://imahealth.org/how-to-change-your-doctor/

Have you or someone you love found a physician who was open to integrative cancer care? We’d love to hear what helped.

P.S. If you know a clinician who supports cancer patients using integrative approaches, encourage them to join the IMA Physician Directory so others can find the help they’re looking for.

The biggest problem for me is insurance. I am on limited income but have wonderful mainstream gold standard government issued medical insurance. It’s so very frustrating dealing with being put on the conveyor belt of predicable narratives gold standard treatment. I’m fed up with all of it. UMass southbridge diagnosed my breast cancer and I got 2nd opinion at transferred to Dana farber Milford. HUGE MISTAKE! Talk about gold standard government BS THEY ARE ALL OF THAT. I am now looking at sister caritas cancer center in Springfield MA. It’s faith based so that’s good and they are not a huge national corporation. They focus on the individual at least that is what the reviews are saying. I am out of options. I am tired of playing games. I agreed to hormone therapy alone at Dana farber and they wanted liver biopsy I said no and then after 2 appointments of pushing biopsy and then fear tactics to get me to do it when all I wanted was the hormone therapy, I said ok let’s do it. Oncologist sent me to get blood work done and my labs all improved from 2 weeks ago that were normal. My markers are better than normal. I have no symptoms and she still has not given me hormone therapy. I only agreed to biopsy to see if she would actually prescribe the hormone therapy and she didn’t. I was diagnosed on May 4th. I ordered ivermectin 12 mg from a pharmacy in Tennessee via this site and I will have it today. I am switching oncologists again and I am praying it’s a good fit because I don’t know where else to turn. Once my foot is in the door am I supposed to say oh hey guess what I am following Dr marik metobolic protocol and taking ivermectin? IDK. Right now I am winging it and trusting my blood work and good health. I don’t know what else to do

Hi @dee544 we we’re discussing recently within our editorial team that IMA is laser focussed on providing the most up to date analysis of the highest value data available, to put together the best treatment options that we can for you, and of course for everyone to share.

With that though was the acknowledgement of how important it is for everyone who needs treatment to know that they still have to take the information on board and make decisions for themselves under very difficult conditions. And it’s extremely tough, but you’re such a brilliant example of somene who has gathered the knowledge, decided your own path forward to find the right medical personal and made your own informed choices. What a story! Thanks so much for sharing.
