Did you watch this weeks show?

It was hosted by Dr. Ryan Cole who was joined by one of our Senior Fellows, Dr. Katherine Welch, MD, Jennifer Lahl, a Pediatric critical care nurse; founder ‘Center for Bioethics and Culture Network’ and Forrest Smith who has detransitioned.

They explored something that’s often missing from mainstream discussions—the medical, psychological, and legal realities after transition.

    A few key themes included:

Many detransitioners describe complex physical and emotional challenges, often with limited support available afterward

There are ongoing questions around informed consent, especially when long-term outcomes and risks aren’t fully understood, and Jennifer Lahl suggested that informed consent is a non starter in when it comes to these procedures, that they should never be taking place at all.

The experience of detransition is far from simple, it can involve identity, health, and social challenges all at once.

Watch it and share it with anyone that may have a young person that is struggling at the moment: https://imahealth.org/detransitioners-medical-psychological-and-legal-realities/
