A Good Old Remedy
I remember cod liver oil was a daily ritual when I was growing up in the 70s. My mom was a nurse and she fed us a spoonful every morning. And then in turn I gave it to my son when he was young.
One of the reasons it was so popular is that cod liver oil is naturally rich in vitamin A and vitamin D, both nutrients that play important roles in immune health and development.
But over time it seemed to quietly fall out of favour.
I remember more and more warnings about mercury in fish and advice to cut back. Yes mercury that is safe in vaccines !! I am not saying its connected, but …..
Did you grow up taking cod liver oil?
Any other old family remedies you still use today?
Did anyone watch last night’s discussion about measles and treatment approaches, that is why I started to think about Cod Liver Oil and why it was widely used.
It’s here, and worth a watch: https://imahealth.org/beyond-the-headlines-evidence-based-treatment-for-measles/
