Hi ua, we’ve had a few cats, and found them to be wonderful companions. They do need to get through the kitten phase, where everything is something to bite and scratch and kill if they can.

After the kitten phase, they are more manageable.

The truth though is it is in a cat’s nature (at least in my experience) for cats always to want to kill pigeons and rats and mice etc.

It sounds like this is very unsettling for you. Unfortunately, the chances of the cat’s nature changing is very small.

I think continuing to look for adoption opportunities will eventually give you the peace of mind you’re looking for. There may also be a local pet shelter that could help too.
