Nauseating just thinking about what they ate in Soylent Green!
I think The Hunger Games applies here as well. The urban/rural divide is as stark in reality as it was on the big screen.
I’ve long had the stance the true conflict is rural vs city. Every conflict is downstream from that core divide.
Watching The Handmaids Tale during/since Covid was surreal. The face coverings, the government overreach, the different set of rules and privledges for the elite and now the fertility issues. Chilling parallels to our reality.
Absolutely — it’s a chilling reflection of the times we’re living in. Books that were once meant to serve as cautionary tales, like 1984 or Brave New World, now feel eerily prophetic. It’s a reminder of how important it is to stay aware, question authority, and protect the freedoms we often take for granted.
👍 Always be watching. It’s necessary.
