Seems like we’ve been making progress in understanding the negative effects of even small TBI’s. But my husband had one in August and doctors didn’t recommend anything for it. But they also gave bad advice about his facial breaks. (His short term memory was terrible for 24 hours but then was better. He’s 64, and it’s hard to say whether he has long term brain effects. He sleeps terribly but that’s not new. He’s got also got microvascular
dysregulation, autonomic instability, mast-cell activation, and dietary
oxalate sensitivity since Covid and the vax.)He’s pretty sensitive to supplements, but are there things he should be taking? Things he should be doing?

I had that once after a rear-ender low speed collision at age 49. It took more than three months to be headache-free (I normally do not experience headaches.) See Mark Twain, I was likely as smart as I would ever be at age 15 so it would be difficult to assess ultimate recovery!
A Midwestern Doctor on Substack has some interesting reports on stroke and DMSO- I suspect the mechanisms , especially in someone with microvascular issues, might be applicable.
I hope recovery progresses.

He should be taking 3,000 I. U of combined EPA and DHA daily (these are the fish oils) ; 10,000 I, U, of vitamin D-3 daily (vitamin D is actually a hormone) AND he should be on skin-applied testosterone replacement. Get aq used copy of “The Testosterone Revolution” by Malcolm Carruthers, M. D. for more detailed information about testosterone replacement.

Find a very good chinese trained acupuncturist who can work with neuro injuries and autonomic issues. Its been proven to help greatly with dysautonomia w helps other symptoms. BUT must be done on a regular basis, weekly for best results. Ear seeds on the Shein ear point in between can be useful

And the book: Memory Rescue: Supercharge Your Brain, Reverse Memory Loss, And Remember What Matters Most by Dr Daniel Amen has a section on TBI.
