Lyme Disease: The Hidden Battle with Co-Infections
-
I started to listen to a few podcasts and reading a few detailed articles about Lyme. Another rabbit hole for me to explore.
For starters, I learned there are 500 new cases a year that are diagnosed and there have not been any new treatment studies done in 20 years! (Perhaps these only include RCT pharma studies)
And to complicate matters, Lyme disease is rarely a solo infection. Many patients battle multiple pathogens at once—most commonly Bartonella and Babesia. These co-infections can complicate diagnosis and treatment, leading to prolonged illness and frustration.<div>
Have you or someone you know experienced challenges with co-infections alongside Lyme disease?
What strategies or treatments have been effective in managing these complex cases.
Do you have any great book or podcasts that you can share that may help others. (there is a link to one of the IMA articles below that includes links to a couple of webinars.)
