Huge news. IMA applauds RFK for ending hospital vaccine mandates tied to federal funding—but universities and academic centers are still playing by those rules.

Here are the IMA announcements! 🗞️

Today IMA is applauding HHS Secretary Kennedy and CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz for officially getting rid of a controversial rule that basically forced hospitals to make COVID-19 shots mandatory for all healthcare workers, thanks to federal funding pressure. In Dr. Joseph Varon’s own words:

“It’s time to end the unlawful coercion of medical and university personnel through these backdoor COVID shot mandates. The prior policy created a perverse financial incentive for hospitals to mandate staff vaccination, regardless of individual health conditions, personal choice, or evolving science. That’s not public health—that’s regulatory coercion. This is a major victory for medical freedom.” 🏥

But we’re also calling out universities, academic research hospitals, and big clinic systems for keeping similar incentive rules alive. According to Dr. Varon, “this financial arm-twisting is still happening,” pointing out that the Department of Education and the NIH are still rewarding institutions that show “strong vaccination compliance” by granting big research money—often using CDC-style staff mandates as the key metric. 💸

“Whether through CMS, NIH, or even private insurers copying the federal playbook, medical professionals are being forced to choose between their jobs and their judgment. That’s unethical. It must end.” ⚖️

So what do you all think? Is this truly a victory for “medical freedom,” or will those old incentive structures keep the same pressure in new places? Should other federally funded centers—like universities and research hospitals—face even more scrutiny now? Are we finally moving away from “backdoor mandates,” or just shifting the goalposts?

    Yes!!! Thank God!!!

It was not only hospital workers, but anybody employed by a hospital in any capacity.

I am a software engineer. I was working remotely, in Seattle, for a hospital in Michigan.

I was NEVER going to go to Michigan to work there, it was a fully remote job.

This computer department in Michigan (which I was never going to travel to), was not anywhere near patients or the hospital. If some super special event happened and I HAD to go to Michigan, I would have gone to the computer department and no where near the hospital. (The job was performancing testing code on servers in data centers. This data center was nowhere near the hospital. This kind of testing on servers in data centers has been remote for *decades*. There’s all kinds of security around medical data and I, as a lowly tester, was never going to get anywhere near any real server.

But I nearly did not get a job when they told me I would have to get a flu vaccine.

I told them I could not get that vaccine. There was no reason for me to get one. I was working from home in Seattle! (This was all in 2017, btw, before the pandemic).

    I was really broke too!

It was obvious that it was all just to put money in big pharma’s pocket. My future boss told me: the hospital got a kick back from big pharma if they got 99% of their people vaccinated.

I should have seen the pandemic psy-ops coming from this experience. I was a victim of a different kinds of psyc ops growing up and I can feel this stuff.

I also called various people in my future employer’s human resource department. And guess what. They all had the flu! I asked them “Didn’t you get the shot?” They said yes they did, and it was right after that they got the flu! They resented being force to get the shot.

So all these people who actually did get the shot, and had to work in the hospital around patients, were all sick with the flu!

I’m not making this story up or exaggerating.

What’s worse, I was in psychotherapy at the time, and my therapist said I had an “authority complex!”

Soooo glad to hear this past week’s webinar with the Laura Delano, author of Unshrunk.

Very helpful. We are being psyched out of democracy. The problem is not “capitalism,” it’s “crony-capitalism:” huge corporations buying off our government. Not running the country for the health of the people (i.e., the middle class), but for the benefit of the corporations, where the money is only going to a few people

. We’re beeng “harvested.” not cared for,.

Thanks for sharing that story @charlesd it was amazing how many fully remote workers were mandated to get a vaccine, just insane.

We’re being “harvested.” not cared for,… it certainly feels that way!

So glad you enjoyed the last webinar, its another huge area of medicine that needs some honesty and humility injected into it.

🍻 Here’s to software engineering! (Me too)

When your psychotherapist said you have an “authority complex” you should have responded “I think you’re projecting”. 🤣
