I spoke to an APRN yesterday who said that generic drugs are being forced off the market so that brand-name versions can be sold in their place, at 10 times the price. She mentioned the drug Clomid. This might be a potential topic for FLCCC coverage. Has anyone here seen a generic they like become unavailable for purchase?

    Hi,

Don’t know about the generic issue. Clomid is ok, for limited use, there are other alternatives.

I remember 20+ yr ago, as part of a hospital pharmacy committee meeting, wondering why approval was removed from an existing acid-blocker and replaced with the then-new Purple Pill as the only formulary choice for inpatients. Like many of today’s high-profile tactics, there is likely a history of seeds sown long ago.

I’m a compounding pharmacist – we can fill either enclomiphene (the more active isomer of Clomid) or a unique dose of clomiphene that is not commercially available. Both of these options can save considerable costs to your patients. If you have a relationship with a compounding pharmacist, reach out to them and I’m sure they could help. If you need assistance finding one, DM me.

This doesn’t surprise me. People are refusing vaccines in high numbers these days, so Big Pharma has to make up those shortfalls somewhere.
