I immediately switched to a ketogenic diet once I was reasonably sure I had cancer. I’m very fortunate to have a supportive and very creative wife. She is participating with me, as she appreciates the weight loss. I’m continually amazed at her creativity regarding meals. Left to me, I’d eat about 4 things and be sick of them all in short order. Neither one of us seems to be experiencing much in the way of cravings. (I’m Italian, and I do miss pasta a LOT! But the diet has actually made me eliminate a lot of snacking, particularly late at night.)

Thanks, @flatulus maximus always so great to hear about the support people get from friends and family.

A couple of quick questions if you don’t mind, answer what you are comfortable with.

Were you diagnosed by someone and if so what did they say about a keto diet?

Are you checking if you are in ketosis or just being strict about foods?

Your top tip for someone starting out?

I have been on the Mediterranean type diet and cut out sugar for 5 months since prostate diagnosis. Have been on the Ivermectin, Fenbendazole + protocol that Dr. Marik suggest for four months as well. PSA went from 4.5 to 2.0 so far. 16-8 fasting, cravings not to bad. I miss beer, a lot. Get used to carrot sticks and celery for snacking and fiber with everything possible. Still going to get some focused radiation and short term hormone therapy to be sure but at the the very least the protocol may give me a head start and may prevent stem cell based return. Plenty of uninformed biased opinions from everyone. Less than accepting attitude from the oncologist but I had to be honest with them. I told them I would deal with the nutritional and metabolism side of things and they can kill the cancer! Really shocking how dismissive all of the docs have been from GP to urologist and oncologist. I start a short radiation cycle soon and then watch the PSA scores. Best advice so far is look at it as a lifestyle change. Lots of benefits. Weight loss, in better shape. Get educated. It’s calming. Cancer Care by Dr. Marik is a good start.

Thank you for sharing @rtisgoingtobeatit, I agree, so many people are gaslit by the medical ‘professionals’ especially when they are at their most vulnerable. A good doctor would be happy that their patients want to be part of the treatment journey. <div>

It’s not as if standard treatment has any guarantees, and it all comes with its own risks.

Please keep us posted on your progress.
