Has anyone had success from any off-label use meds/supplements or non-traditional therapies for CHF rather than or in addition to standard prescribed drugs like Lasix (furosemide) etc? Obviously along with proper diet etc.

Hi @Rachel I am sure someone in the community will add to the discussion. But in the meantime I did an AI search on the IMA website (do try the search on the site, it’s rather impressive) for Congestive Heart Failure

“Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is a critical condition where the heart struggles to pump blood effectively, often leading to fluid retention and symptoms like shortness of breath and fatigue. Dr. Jose Iglesias, a nephrologist with expertise in critical care, has explored CHF in his clinical work, emphasizing the importance of tailored treatments for managing fluid overload and improving heart function through his research and protocols

Additionally, natural diuretics, such as dandelion and hawthorn, have been highlighted as supportive options for managing fluid retention in CHF, offering a plant-based alternative to pharmaceuticals to enhance heart health<div>

Being holistic, I would look to cratagus tincture (hawthorne berry). I would also look very carefully at the diet as most people, even those who believe they eat healthily, are eating poorly and their eating habits need changing. And then I would look at the exercise factor as sitting too much can cause circulation problems. Homeopathy is a great protocol but I would not suggest any remedies as a profession practitioner, one trained in classical homeopathy, would be my strongest suggestion.

A functional medicine approach to heart function/failure has worked as well/better in my current practice than did a GDMT approach for many years before.
