I have really got to know over the years how important it is to get the essential micronutrients I need from a balanced diet (I try my best)!

I love this guide from IMA Senior Fellow, Dr. Carmen, ‘Micronutrients Essentials Guide’ it covers how to build a diet rich in the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that will keep you feeling your best.

It’s also such a lovely guide to share with all your friends and family.

But even with a good diet, some of us still choose to add supplements — maybe it’s for immune support, energy, stress reduction, or other reasons.

💬 We’d love to hear from you:

Do you take any supplements on top of a healthy diet?

How did you decide which ones to take?

    Have you noticed any benefits?

And of course you can download the free guide here https://imahealth.org/tools-and-guides/micronutrients-essentials-guide/

I thought I’d share a little-known fact. There is an aspect of nutrients in our whole foods that relates to the wavelengths of light used when growing that food. https://youtu.be/U5mmLUEtrLk?si=0ZPJvupnX8KO_1Hn&t=520 . Simply having organically grown, non-GMO food is not enough to ensure it is going to be the healthiest version of that particular variety of produce. The video is a cousin of mine, Alex Gerfer, discussing the topic.

Basically, different wavelengths of light have different effects on a plant. If a grower wants to grow plants quickly, they use a frequency that does so. There is a tradeoff with respect to nutrients. At the 9-minute mark is an interesting taste test. Our brain can tell us something of the nutrient quality based on taste.

Have you ever noticed the difference in the taste of certain whole foods? I remember recently being at a farmer’s market here in Washington and a lady from Israel talking to the farmer and telling him that things tasted better back in Israel compared to what she gets from the store here.

The bottom line is when we’re talking about the quality of nutrients, we can’t apply an overarching value. A pound of tomatoes may contain this much of whatever nutrients based on some testing in a lab somewhere, but that can vary greatly depending on how things were grown and what type of light was used.

My wife and I continue to use the I-Prevent protocol even now, four years after we began. The reason is quite simple… we have had the healthiest four years of our lives. Although exposed multiple times to COVID during this time, neither of us have ever contracted it. We also have not had any other respiratory ailments during this time, which is not like the years prior. We both maintain vitamin D levels over 70 ng/ml, do a nightly nasal rinse, and take the other supplements described, and since it has yielded such good results for us, we see no reason to stop! We also during this time have adopted intermittent fasting as well as eliminating seed oils and most processed foods. We are thankful for the FLCCC and now the IMA on helping us live healthier.
