Breaking- WHO International Health Regulations Rejected!

I’m delightedly happy with the breadth of work RFK Jr. is doing. This is a great one.

Since the WHO already regulates the ICD codes (disease classification) we use in the US, maybe a further step is wrestling back control of what a person can be treated for in the US and making that specific to American ideals and philosophy. Start our own code system, one which can optionally agree or disagree with WHO ICD codes.

We already have a problem with the AMA controlling CPT codes (outpatient procedures).

As an example, my doctor was frustrated there wasn’t an ICD code differentiating reactive hypoglycemia (see ICD E16). The treatment and pathology can be different between types of hypoglycemia. If you’re trying to piece together a bigger picture for the patient, this is very important to know.

So, at the moment WHO dictates what is a disease and what isn’t for Americans.

I just checked and there is an ICD code for Long COVID, U09.9, but there is no ICD code for Long Vax.

The closest to Long Vax are:

T50.B95A – Adverse effect of other viral vaccines, initial encounter

Y59.9 – Unspecified vaccine or biological substance causing adverse effects

Z23 – Encounter for immunization (used during vaccine administration)

R53.83 – Other fatigue (sometimes used for post-vaccine fatigue)

To add to that, mRNA is often argued to not be a vaccine at all. Even terminology can be confounding.

So, my point is, does America want to have to lobby with WHO to get new ICD codes for something we might consider a new disease, or do we want to be able to do it ourselves?
