IF and Supplements

I am wondering if I eventually get to the suggested one meal a day doing intermittent fasting, how do you handle the Berberine and all the other supplements that suggest taking with a meal? I am specifically interested to know how to take Berberine for optimal benefit. I read only 30 min to 1 hour before a meal. But who thinks that far in advance all the time. If taken right before a meal, is Berberine effective at all?

I have also read to take it with a meal. So there is a lot of contradicting info out there. And, if it says to take it twice or three times a day, if you only are eating one meal, then do you take the entire dose at one time.

Supplements are so confusing to me!

Thank you for any medical feedback.

In my opinion, nutritional supplements after fasting only make sense in the case of nutritional deficiencies. E.g. with vitamin D deficiency or magnesium deficiency.

The alkaloid berberine is recommended covid19criticalcare.com after fasting (dose 1-2x 600mg). It is said to increase insulin sensitivity, improve the lipid profile and have positive effects on the microbiome. Fasting itself has these effects.

The alkaloid berberine occurs in many plant families (e.g. Berberis vulgaris, Chelidonium majus, Coptis chinesis, Hydrastis canadiensis). In my opinion, berberine should always be used as a total plant extract and not as a monosubstance. Structurally, there is a relationship to hormones and neurotransmitters, which also explains its homosexual balancing effect and effect on mental disorders. Drugs containing berberine have an antiseptic effect and, with other plant metabolites, an antibiotic effect (recommendation for current urinary tract infections). I would not follow a general recommendation after fasting or partial fasting.
