My husband was given a glass test tube of crystals about 15 years ago from an alternative provider for treatment of kidney stones.  He was told to leave the vial sealed but place it in water in a Nalgene bottle so that the water did not ever come into contact with the sealed test tube but the ?ions? Charged the water.
